Overview
Veodia automatically adjusts how viewers connect to its streaming servers based on environmental variables. Despite these efforts, third-party software and network configurations still sometimes manage to block the live stream.
If you are having trouble watching a live broadcast, please review the following:
Anti-Virus Software
Sometimes anti-virus software incorrectly categorizes a Veodia live broadcast as a threat.
Known issues:
Restart your browser after making any changes to your anti-virus software.
Personal Firewalls
Both anti-virus software (McAfee, Nortons, etc.) and operating systems may install personal firewalls. These firewalls could block a live broadcast and should be disabled if you are having trouble viewing an event.
QuickTime Settings
Sometimes QuickTime settings prevent your computer from connecting to Veodia. Please check the following:
Windows: File - Edit Prefences - QuickTime Preferences - Streaming - Advanced. The Transport Setup should be set to Automatic.
Mac: System Prefeferences - QuickTime - Advanced. The Transport Setup should be set to Automatic.
Corporate Environments
If you are in a corporate environment and not running the anti-virus software or personal firewalls listed above, it is recommended that you contact your IT Department.
Your IT Department will need to know that Veodia tunnels the live RTSP stream over HTTP. It first attempts to use port 80 and if that fails the service automatically tries port 554. Some environments may block HTTP tunneling based on the RTSP MIME-type.
